Ridgeland Closed for 5 Hours After SUV and Cyclist Collide
An SUV was parked on southbound Ridgeland Tuesday night near the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and 135th Street.

A 30-year-old Chicago man remains in critical condition after his bike collided with an SUV Tuesday afternoon on Ridgeland Avenue.
Ridgeland Avenue was shut down for about five hours while the accident was investigated, according to a spokeswoman from the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
The man was transported to an area hospital, police said.
The crash happened at about 3:50 pm. Tuesday at the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and 135th Street, police said. A 1999 Chevrolet Suburban was westbound on 135th Street and was making a left turn onto southbound Ridgeland when a cyclist heading east on a nearby bike path collided with the SUV.
Police are still investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
The driver of the Suburban was not hurt, police said.

Ridgeland Avenue was closed Tuesday night because of a car crash.
Cook County Sheriff's police were on the scene at about 8:30 p.m. A single SUV was parked in the southbound lane near the intersection of Ridgeland and 135th Street.
Information about who was involved in the crash and if they were hurt was not available Tuesday night.
