Republicans Sweep Palos Township Board
With 39 of 39 precincts reporting, Richard Riley, Sharon Brannigan, Michael Lebarre and Brent Woods have been elected to the Palos Township board, according to unofficial results.

The Republican Party slate swept Tuesday night for four trustee seats with Palos Township.
With 39 of 39 precincts reporting, Richard Riley, Sharon Brannigan, Michael Lebarre and Brent Woods have been elected to the Palos Township board, according to unofficial results.
Candidates from the Palos Township Republican Party trounced the Palos Unified Party, which included three incumbents. Four seats were up on Tuesday.

Woods, Lebarre, Riley and Brannigan make up the Republican ticket. They credit a get-out-the-vote campaign spearheaded by Palos Township Republican Committeeman Sean Morrison.

These new trustees are looking to establish new services, funded through partnerships or fundraising outside of tax revenue — including a college scholarship and programs for seniors and disabled veterans
"We’re going to work closely with the seniors," Lebarre said.
The Republicans intend to work with members of the Palos Unified Party who remain in power within the township, including Supervisor Colleen Schumann. They anticipate having a good working relationship once sworn into office.
Three members of the Palos Unified Party — Carbonara, Conway and Poulos — were incumbents vying for another term as trustee. Mahoney was the fourth member on the Unified Party slate.
Trustee Nora Ryan did not run for reelection.
Incumbents for four township positions ran unopposed on Tuesday. Schumann, Clerk Jane Nolan, Assessor Robert Maloney and Highway Commissioner Gene Adams will retain this seats.
The Palos Township office is located in Palos Hills.
