Excessive Heat Advisory Issued, Check on Your Neighbors
Temperatures are expected to reach triple digits Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the Palos area. Temperatures are expected to reach 97 degrees by this afternoon, with a heat index of 110 degrees.
Thursday will be just as hot with the heat index reaching 112 degrees, the NWS reports.
Police departments are urging residents to check on elderly neighbors who may be experiencing difficulties due to the heat. If you have heat concerns you can contact your local police department.

The will be open until 9 p.m. this week and can be used as a cooling center. In addition, your local library also can provide relief from the heat.
