Fireworks Suspected In Palos Hills Mailbox Explosions
Palos Hills police are investigating two incidents of exploding mailboxes.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Two incidents of fireworks blowing up mailboxes are under investigation by Palos Hills police.
A resident in the 8100 block of 99th Street said someone blew up their mailbox by putting fireworks inside of it sometime on June 16.
A second incident was reported June 17 in the 9000 block of Sierra Lane. The residents told police that someone threw fireworks into their mailbox.

With the Fourth of July fast approaching, Palos Hills police remind residents that it is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to possess, use, display, ignite, sell or offer for sale any fireworks, firecrackers, torgedoes, Roman candles, skyrockets, cap pistols or other pyrotechnics with in the City of Palos Hills. Fines start at $500.
