GoFundMe Started To Help Children, Teachers And Others Recover From Transfiguration Crash
"Now, it is our turn to rally together and provide meaningful support to those most impacted."

PALOS PARK, IL — A GoFundMe has been created to support those impacted by Friday’s devastating crash in Palos Park, when a pickup truck crashed through the wall of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration into a preschool classroom.
Three young children in the classroom were injured, including one child who suffered a broken femur. A church staff member suffered a medical emergency, and two Palos Park officers suffered lung injuries from inhaling construction debris. All have been treated and released from area hospitals, including the driver of the pickup truck.

“This devastating incident has left families traumatized and our community reeling … Now, it is our turn to rally together and provide meaningful support to those most impacted,” said organizer Emily Elzen. “This GoFundMe campaign has been established to help the affected families, teachers, and other community members navigate the difficult days ahead. Your generous contributions will help alleviate the unexpected financial burdens they now face, including medical expenses, emotional support, and other unforeseen needs arising from this tragedy.”
Early indications are the 29-year-old driver of the pickup truck that crashed into the church was having a medical emergency. The accident is still under investigation.
