The children's section at Green Hills Library in Palos Hills is looking a little brighter these days.
The library recently unveiled a new look that features more interactive games and embraces technology in new ways. The area for smaller kids features a puppet playhouse where imaginations can run wild and a block table to keep their hands busy.
In addition to the play area, a total of eight new iPads were purchased and divided between the kid and teen areas.
"We like to mimic what is going on in the schools, we don't want to be left behind," said Amanda Kowalcze, the library's youth services manager.
The teen section features a table that looks straight out of the Apple Store and gives teens their own special place in the library.
Kowalcze says that their mission extends beyond just a place to check out books. The library should be a place were kids and families can gather to spend time.
"They come in and never want to leave," Kowalcze said.
