Heat Illness Warning Issued for Palos Area
Temperatures reached the upper 90s Tuesday afternoon and area officials are asking residents to keep an eye on those who are prone to heat illness.

Thermometers in the Palos area reached the high 90s Tuesday afternoon. The heat index could reach 100 before the heat breaks in the evening.
Local officials are advising people to pay extra attention to those who are prone to heat illness, including pets, young children and the elderly. Those who work outdoors or in hot buildings need to take additional precautions.
The National Weather Service says temperatures in the Chicago area likely will break records for this time of the year.
