Sister Of Slain Worth Woman Starts GoFundMe To Give Her Proper Burial And Support For Sons
Nicole was a big sister to everyone and always ready to help, says her sister, who has started a GoFundMe for her funeral and sons' support.
WORTH, IL — The family of a Worth woman who was stabbed to death over the weekend in what police are describing as a “domestic homicide,” have started a GoFundMe to give her a proper burial and to the support of her young sons
Nicole Acosta, 43, was slain early Saturday morning. Anthony Acosta, 55, identified by family members as Nicole’s husband, has been charged in her death with first-degree murder. The family alleges Nicole was “stabbed to death in a jealous rage.”
“She was trying to leave and make life better for her and her kids,” said Nicole's sister, Tracy Sipich, who is assisting her mother, Linda Britz, with funeral arrangements. “She has two boys that are suffering from this huge loss.”

According to Sipich, both boys were home at the time of the incident and heard and witnessed “horrible things.”
“Her kids need to see their mother put to rest …” Sipich writes, who is organizing the online campaign under her late sister's maiden name, Nicole Freeman. “We can’t bury her without it. I don’t want my sister sitting in the Cook County morgue. She deserved better.”

Sipich said Nicole was always willing to be the big sister and help everyone.
“Please help me give my sister a good burial and offer her babies some support. She didn’t deserve to die like this. She was loved and will be missed so much.”
Donations to the “Support Two Boys After Tragedy” on GoFundMe will go toward Nicole’s funeral expenses and the support of her sons.
Nicole’s husband, Anthony Acosta, is currently hospitalized after he tried to take his own life, said Chief Tim Denton, of the Worth Police Department. He remains under the guard of Cook County Sheriff’s Deputies in his hospital room.
On Monday, Cook County assistant state’s attorneys obtained an order from a judge to hold Acosta in custody while he is hospitalized until further notice from the court. When he is released from the hospital, Acosta will appear for a detention hearing.
Clarification: Linda Britz is Nicole's mother. Nicole's sister, Tracy Sipich, organized the GoFundMe to assist her mother.
