Janice L. Crego

Janice “Jan” Crego (née Brown) passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by her family.

Born on June 6, 1947, in East Chicago, Indiana, Jan was the fourth child of the late Lyle and Allean (Early) Brown.

Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Crego, and her three brothers, Don Brown, Richard Brown, and David Brown. She is survived by her children Karen (Matt) Togliatti, Kevin Crego, and Kathy (Al) Togliatti. Jan was the proud grandma of Kati (Pat Edmonds) Togliatti, Ally (Brett) Weston, Nick Togliatti, Taylor Crego, and Carrie Togliatti. Jan will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Dorothy Palfrey and Sue Brown, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Jan was a huge NASCAR fan and would be found on race Sundays cheering on her favorite drivers, Jeff Gordon and Joey Logano. She loved making dinners for her family and was a highly competitive card and Yahtzee player. Jan enjoyed breakfasts with the Buckaroos and visiting family, especially her Memphis and Kansas families. She was a wonderful friend, mom, and grandma and will be greatly missed.

Visitation Thursday, November 21 from 3 pm until 8 pm at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights. Chapel Prayer Service to commence at 7:30 pm.

Interment will be private.
