PALOS PARK, IL – In honor of the 55th anniversary of Earth Day, neighbors can keep Palos Park beautiful by joining the Palos Park Beautification Committee for Rid Litter Day, Saturday, April 26.

Meet at 9 a.m.in front of the Palos Park Recreation Center, 8901 W. 123rd St. Gloves, vests and bags will be distributed, although volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves.

Rid Litter Day is a great opportunity for high school students to earn community service hours for school. Forms can be signed on Saturday for community service hours.

Since the first Rid Litter Day in 1997, volunteers have collected over three tons of litter. Service hour forms can be signed on Saturday for high school students looking for community service hours.

Volunteers typically collect 50 to 70 bags of litter along main roads in Palos Park. For more information, visit the Village of Palos Park or call 708-671-3760.
