Last Chance: College Scholarships Available For Local Students

Two Palos organizations are offering scholarships to local high school students and teachers and the deadlines to apply are quickly approaching. 

Palos Fine Arts is offering two $700 scholarships to high school juniors or seniors who are interested in music, dance, creative writing, visual arts or theater. Educators from and are also eligible for one of the scholarships.

Applications are due by April 13. More information about application procedures and eligibility can be found on Palos Fine Art's website.  

The Palos Area Chamber of Commerce is also offering scholarships. To qualify you must be a Palos Heights or Palos Park resident, or a family member of an employee of a chamber business. The application is due April 16 and more information about eligibility and the full form can be found here.  

Other deadlines to keep in mind this week:

• The  is going back in time to the world lords and ladies. Historian Barbara Geiger will make a  that is depicted in the hit PBS series. The presentation will also cover Edwardian England's ownership patterns and landscape designers that created grand estates like Downton Abbey.
