Durward Fagan was born on August 8, 1911 in Missouri. He was born before World War I broke out, before the Titanic sank and before the Panama Canal was opened.  Fagan received a civil engineering degree from the University of Missouri and moved to the Chicago area in 1934. He has lived in Palos Heights since 1940 and was a founding member of the . He has a love of antique cars and still toils away in his workshop building furniture and birdhouses.  Fagan has two children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
