Man Charged in Suspected Palos Hills Knife Slashing
Palos Hills police charged a 24-year-old man in connection with an aggravated battery incident last month. They found him hiding under a bed.

On June 17 at about 3:45 a.m. police officers responded to an incident in the 8500 block of 100th Terrace.
There they found a man lying in a parking lot on the forearm and also had a bloody nose and cut lip. Police described the victim as "uncooperative" and that he "refused to give any further information." He was transported to Advocate Christ for treatment.
Police now believe they found the man who wielded the knife. Joshua Loyd, 24, of Palos Hills, was charged with felony aggravated battery.

After an investigation into the incident, detectives believed they had probable cause linking Loyd to the attack, police said. On June 27 they went to his home in the area of 100th Terrace to conduct an interview.
Answering the door was Jennifer Toomey, 22, who told police that Loyd was not at home. The officers asked if they could enter the home and conduct a search and were given permission, police said.
