'Mercury: The Concert' Celebrates Queen's Front Man Thursday At MVCC

PALOS HILLS, IL — Relive the hit songs that made Freddie Mercury famous and get to know the legend through his words and stories in the Dorothy Menker Theater at Moraine Valley Community College this Thursday, Nov. 14.
More than just a concert, world-renowned countertenor Terry Barber — joined by recent Tony Award- winning vocalist Grace Field and world-class band — pays tribute to the man who taught a generation how to rock.
“Mercury: The Story of Queen’s Front Man,” Barber shares stories about the legend’s life and the entire band shares his actual words. Equally at home on musical theater and opera stages and in the recording studio, past member of Grammy-winning Chanticleer, Barber has been a soloist for the best venues around the world, from the Metropolitan Opera to Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall. He can be heard on recordings with artists ranging from Madonna, Jewel and Cyndi Lauper to Chaka Khan, Steve Smith and the London Philharmonic.
Barber’s 2019 solo album, Reimagined: Mercury, was considered for eight GRAMMY nominations. Audiences continually say, “the best concert of our season.”

Tickets are $35 for adults, $33 seniors 55+ and under 18/veterans $30. Moraine Valley employes are $30 and MVCC student rush tickets are $5. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Menker Theater in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, 9000 W. College Parkway, Palos Hills.
