Shakespeare's romantic comedy will be staged on the Gateway at Moraine Valley Community College this weekend, July 20 to July 23. Free.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Moraine Valley Community College joins in the delightful summer tradition of Shakespeare in the open air by presenting the Bard’s comedy, ‘Much Ado About Nothing.’ The show is directed by Dr. Craig Rosen and features a talented student cast.
Young lovers, and soon to wed, Hero and Claudio conspire to get verbal sparring partners and confirmed singles, Benedick and Beatrice, to wed as well. The primary plot turns on the courtship and scandal involving young Hero and her suitor, Claudio, but the witty war of words between Claudio’s friend Benedick and Hero’s cousin Beatrice often takes center stage.
Performances are FREE and take place on the Gateway on MVCC’s main campus, 9001 College Drive, Palos Hills. Shows start at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
