Newsworthy: Hearne Keeps Marist Baseball on Top

It was a special kind of game for Palos Heights' Mike Hearne on Wednesday. 

Hearne was pitching for the and a win would put them into the sectional final game. A loss would end the season. 

Adding to the drama was a familiar face on the mound for Providence Catholic, Mike's cousin David Hearne. 

The Redhawks started off rough, giving up four runs in the first inning, but Hearne was able to calm the storm and Marist won 9-5.

"I settled down a little bit," he said. "I just had to get that hold because I knew we'd come alive sometime."

Both cousins will be attending Notre Dame in the fall.
