Palos Fire Protection District: Salary Increases Over 5 Years

The Palos Fire Protection District base salaries for the 2011 fiscal year can be . The following is how much base salaries have increased from 2006 to 2011.

The district underwent negotiations and arbitration in 2007 and will address healthcare and salary for the 2012 fiscal year in the coming months.

The pay structure was also re-calibrated that year to incorporate previous incentives for now common certifications into the base salary. The raise was in addition to those changes. The larger increase was meant to better align the district's wages with other area departments, Board President Kevin McCurrie said. 

The raises essentially brought Palos salaries from the low to mid-end, up to the high to mid-end of area departments.
