Palos Heights Candidates Square Off March 6 In Forum
The Palos Area Chamber will host a forum for Palos Heights candidates Thursday, March 6, at the Palos Heights Rec Center.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — The Palos Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a candidate forum Thursday, March 6. The forum starts at 6 p.m. in the Palos Heights Recreation Center, 6601 W. 127th St.
Moderating the forum will be the League of Women Voters Palos-Orland area. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.
Ald. Jeff Key (2nd) is challenging long-time Mayor Robert Straz in the April 1 consolidated election. Both candidates have committed.

Running against Ald. Jack Clifford (2nd) is newcomer Jennifer Case, who have both confirmed their attendance.
Incumbent James Daemicke and George Popelka are both running for the office of Palos Heights treasurer.

The mayoral candidates will be first to speak, followed by the aldermanic and treasurer candidates.
The forum will be videotaped by PHTV Ch. 4. It hasn’t yet been determined if the forum will be broadcast live.
Residents will be offered cards where they can submit questions for the candidates. Trained LWV members will review questions for clarity, duplicity and appropriateness. The forum will have a trained LWV moderator who does not live in Palos Heights.
