Palos Heights Police Blotter: Flower Thrower, Pot Smoker and DUI Accident
Palos Heights police reports, May 31 - June 6.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6
Pot Thrower
Bernardo Martinez, 22, of the 4000 block of Maplewood in Chicago, was charged with criminal damage to property. Martinez was throwing plants and bags of potting soil around the parking lot of Jewel at 2:03 a.m., police said.

DUI Accident
Dennis Stampanato, 55, of the 15200 block of South Rob Roy Drive in Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. At 6:46 p.m. Stampanato's car hit another vehicle that was slowing down for a red traffic light on Route 83 and Ridgeland Avenue, police said. During the crash investigation police said officers noticed that he showed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests, which he failed.
DUI on Harlem Avenue
Anil Thapa, 21, of the 3100 block of South Oak in Brookfield, was charged with drunken driving. He was stopped at 4:47 a.m. for speeding, police said. Police say he failed field sobriety tests and a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .208, more than two and a half times the legal limit.

DUI on College Drive
Rachel Terborg, 27, of the 14400 block of Kenton in Crestwood, was charged with drunken driving. She was stopped at 1:48 a.m. for crossing lane lines, police said. Terborg failed field sobriety tests and a breath test resulted in a blood alcohol level of .205, police said.
MAY 31
Pot Possession
Darryl Tabb, 24, of the 3300 block of 147th Street in Midlothian, was charged with possession of cannabis. He was stopped at 11:03 p.m. for a burnt out headlight. An odor of burnt cannabis was detected and he told officers that there was marijuana in his vehicle, police said.
Pot Pipe
Kevin Ross, 26, of the 14100 block of Kilpatrick in Crestwood, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped at 6:57 p.m. for not wearing a seat belt, police said. After officers were able to smell burning cannabis, he admitted to having a pipe used to smoke it in his car, police said.
