PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — The Palos Heights Police Department as well as other law enforcement agencies around Illinois will begin its holiday traffic enforcement campaign starting Friday, Dec. 13, continuing through Jan. 2.

Officers will be monitoring traffic for impaired driving, speeding, cell phone use and seat belt use as holiday parties get started to ensure that festive gatherings don’t end in tragedy. Palos Heights police officers will adopt a zero-tolerance policy for impaired driving to keep our roads safe.

“This season, let’s make safety our shared priority,” said Sergeant Walter Droba, of the Palos Heights Police Department. “If you plan to drink or use impairing substances, plan ahead for a sober ride home. Driving impaired isn’t just dangerous – it’s unacceptable. We’ll be out in full force, and no excuses will be accepted.”
