Palos Heights Preschoolers Hop For Wounded Warriors
Students from Little Learners Preschool helped raise money for PAWWS, an organization that connects veterans with PTSD and service dogs.
Little Learners Preschool and the held a special "HOP FOR P.A.W.W.S" fundraiser. The children raised $300.00 hopping to help purchase a service dog for a veteran suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Pam Barnett founder of Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors, joined the fun and hopped with the children. She brought her dog Olive and read "Bielo" the children's book she authored. She spoke to the preschoolers about the many ways service dogs assist both children and adults with special needs. They learned about search and rescue dogs and pet safety.
It is the hope of Rita Schultz, the Little Learners preschool instructor that other schools will help our disabled veterans and "HOP FOR P.A.W.W.S". Pam Barnett is receiving calls from veterans administrations around the country requesting her specialized training and service dogs. She volunteers her time to train dogs, but needs help raising money to purchase them.
