Palos Park Gas Station Robbed By Man Carrying Large Knife or Saw
A gas station on LaGrange Road was robbed by a man carrying a large knife or small tree saw in the early morning hours of May 23.
are investigating an armed robbery that occured in the early morning hours of May 23.
At 1:45 a.m. a man carrying a large heavily serrated knife or small tree saw with a plastic green handle entered the Shell Gas Station at 13056 S. LaGrange Road, police said.
He told the clerk to "get behing the register" and "open up quick, quick," police said.

After the register was open the armed man ordered the clerk to the ground and took about $200 from the drawer. Police say he then fled northwest bound on foot.
Police were able to call a K9 unit from the Lemont Police Department and track the suspect to the 9700 block of Creek Road where his scent was eventually lost, police said.

Cook County Sheriff's Office evidence techs processed the crime scene and recovered partial latent prints from the door and cash register drawer, police said.
The incident has close similarities to a robbery that occurred at a Willow Springs gas station on May 17, police said.
The suspect is described by police as a six-foot tall white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a gray printed design, dark athletic pants, white baseball cap and a black bandana or mask.
