Palos Park Police Blotter: Crack Pipe, Stolen Purse and Smashed Window

FRIDAY, MAY 25

Rock Meets Window

A large rock was thrown through the back window of a car parked in a driveway on the 11600 block of Vienna Avenue sometime during the night, police said.

Crack Pipe

Michael Ellman, 34, of the 600 block of State in Geneva, and Frank Brown, 51, of the 5600 block of South Archer in Chicago, were charged with possession of drug equipment. The two men were seen coming out of the forest preserves near LaGrange Road and Black Walnut, at 7:23 p.m. police said. The men claimed they were looking for a lost cell phone and when police searched their car they found a pipe used for smoking crack cocaine, police said. 

Purse Snatched

Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. a purse was stolen from outside the Palos Park Recreation Center, police said. A woman put her purse down to help unload items from a van for a recreation program and while she was unloading the purse was taken. In the hours after she reported her cards stolen a charge of $300 was made at a Pepe's restaurant, police said.
