Police will increase roadway patrols now through May 26, as part of its annual Memorial Day Enforcement Campaign. Officers will be patrolling streets and roadways, focusing on enforcing seat belt laws and promoting safe driving to reduce crashes and save lives. Palos Park officers will be focusing on maintaining the flow of traffic as well as enforcing all traffic laws, especially the "Fatal Five," including: <ul><li>Speed </li><li>Occupant Safety </li><li>Lane Safety </li><li>Impaired Driving </li><li>Distracted Driving </li></ul> Motorists passing through Palos Park should anticipate laser units for speed enforcement, as well as marked and unmarked, non-traditional police vehicles patrolling the roadways.
