Palos Park Police Offer Free Home Checking Service
If you're going on vacation over the holidays, police are offering to check on your house a few times a day.

PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police are offering a free vacation home checking service this year, according to Chief Joe Miller. With the season in full swing, many burglars expect families to go on vacation, leaving their home for days or months.
"It's a program where we'll have our patrol staff come out and do an exterior check of your home while you're on vacation," Miller said. "Vacation checks are available all year round and entail a visual check of your home and outbuildings, also ensuring that vehicles, gates, lighting and general security of the home are intact."
The service is available for Palos Park residents only. Police will check residents' homes each shift to give homeowners a bit of peace of mind.
