Former Palos Park Employee Arrested on Child-Porn Charges for Videos of 13-Year-Old Girl

Rodney Albright, the village's code enforcement officer, resigned earlier this month as the investigation into the allegations began. He is accused of making videos of a 13-year-old girl in his home.

A Village of Palos Park employee who resigned earlier this month was arrested late Wednesday evening on child pornography charges after police say he made videos of a girl in the bathroom of his home.

Rodney Albright, 57, of unincorporated Lockport, was charged with six counts of child pornography and one count of unauthorized video recording.

Albright served as Palos Park's code enforcement officer for several years until earlier this month. At that time, he was placed on leave when the village was made aware of the investigation, the village revealed in a news release. He resigned soon after.

Palos Park conducted its own internal investigation and believe the allegations are not related to his village duties, the statement read.

The 13-year-old girl told school officials she believed she was videotaped in the bathroom of the Lockport-area home, police said.

"He was never anybody that came up on our screen as an issue before this minor child basically told school officials of her fear that she has been video taped," said Ken Kaupas, a Will County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

The accuser is not related to Albright.

Because Albright previously has served as a foster parent, Kaupas said, and the Department of Children and Family Services had placed children in his care.

The investigation began on Jan. 26 when the allegation was made.

Detectives uncovered digital media evidence that led to the arrest, Kaupas said.

He was taken into custody without incident Wednesday evening and is still being held on a $3 million bail as of Thursday evening, Kaupas said.

Additional charges are a possibility.

"It's premature to indicate that we stopped investigating," Kaupas said. "Obviously, when you are dealing with this type of activity you are required to go through other electronic records."
