Police Searching for Armed Robber of Palos Hills Bank
A man robbed a Palos Hills bank Friday afternoon and is believed to have fled the scene in a checkered taxi cab.
Friday, 5:45 p.m. -- Law enforcement continues searching for the suspect, according to FBI Special Agent Joan Hyde. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Palos Hills Police Department at 708-598-2992.
Friday, 3:46 p.m. -- The FBI-run website BanditTrackerChicago.com has released two photos of the man believed to have robbed the Bank of America in Palos Hills on Friday afternoon. Law enforcement officials are describing it as a "non-takeover robbery," meaning that no force was used.
No weapon was displayed, law enforcement officials say.

Original story -- Police are searching for a man who recently robbed the Bank of America in Palos Hills Friday afternoon.
The robbery occurred around 1 p.m. Friday at Bank of America, 10260 Roberts Road. The man was armed, but did not display the weapon during the robbery, Palos Hills Police Deputy Chief James Boie said.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed sum, and is believed to have fled the area in a Checker Taxi cab heading west on 103rd Street, Boie said.
The robber is described as:
- Male white in his mid-20s
- 5 feet 9 inches tall
- About 180-190 pounds, stocky build
- Dark hair
- Wearing a blue shirt, puffy dark jacket
- Has a yellow tattoo
- Talks with heavy accent
"Police are clearing the area now," Boie said. "We are making sure no one is around as a precaution."
