Text in a Tip to Help Prevent Crime in Palos Park

The next time you see a crime, let your thumbs do the talking.

People who witness or have information about crimes in Palos Park can use a new text message system to inform police.

“Our success in fighting crime has always been partially dependent on information provided by the community," said Palos Park Police Commissioner Dan Polk. "This new option of texting is the way of communication for today's generation."

About 300,000 text messages are sent per minute in the US, police said.

Palos Park Chief Joe Miller called the texting system “one more vital way” to get information to police departments and help solve crime. The new system will help police fight crime and make the community safer.
