Primary Election 2024: Election Day In Palos
Everything you need to know about early voting, registration and vote-by-mail ballots for the March 19, 2024 Illinois Presidential Primary.
PALOS, IL — If you can't handle the pressure of voting on election day— March 19 —early voting for the Illinois presidential primary is now underway for suburban Cook County voters.
All registered Cook County voters are eligible to vote at a Cook County early voting center. The Cook County Clerk's Office offers additional information regarding early voting centers. Visit Cook County's website to find early voting sites and your election day polling place.
Early voting will take place through March 18. Voters do not need to give a reason why they cannot make it to the polls on Election Day. They only need to fill out an application at the early voting site.

State laws require early voters to provide a valid photo ID to an election official before receiving a ballot to vote early. Valid forms of ID include a current driver's license, a driver's license or state ID, university/college ID or another government-issued ID with a photo, such as a passport.
There are 51 early voting locations in suburban Cook County, including the Bridgeview, Markham, Maybrook, Skokie and Rolling Meadows courthouses. Find a convenient location near you on the Cook County Clerk's website. Early voting sites will be open during the following hours:

- March 4 through March 8 and March 11 through March 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- March 9 and March 16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- March 10 and March 17, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- March 18, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- March 19 (Election Day), 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voter Registration Deadlines
- Online registration deadline: 16 days before Election Day
- Register by mail deadline: Must be postmarked 28 days before Election Day
- In person registration deadline: Available up to and including on Election Day
Request A Mail-In Ballot
The last day to request a mail-in ballot, including military and overseas voters, is at 5 p.m. March 14. The last day to postmark a mail-in ballot is March 19.

Register To Vote
During the early voting period for the 2024 Illinois Presidential Primary (March 4 through March 18), voters can register and vote in person at one of the Cook County Clerk's designated Early Voting locations.
Voters wishing to vote during early voting must bring two pieces of identification to register, including a government-issued photo ID and a piece of mail with a current address, such as a utility bill. Registrants must immediately cast their ballot after registering to vote.
On the day of the March 19 primary, voters who are not registered can register and vote at their home precinct only. Find your home precinct using the voter information tool. Voters planning on registering to vote or updating their address on primary election day must bring two pieces of identification to register, including a government-issued photo ID and a second piece of identification one with a current address, such as a utility bill.
