PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — The search continues for a Morgan Park man whose vehicle was found parked in the roadway early Tuesday morning by the Cal-Sag Bridge in Palos Heights. He is considered missing and endangered, police said.

Joshua Blair, 37, was last seen by his family around 3 a.m. when he left his house. A passerby reported an unoccupied vehicle sitting in the roadway near the bridge at 118th Street and Harlem Avenue. Blair’s wallet and cell phone were also found in the vehicle, Palos Heights police said.

Palos Heights police, along with the Chicago Ridge police, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Palos Heights Fire Protection District marine unit, and a Chicago police helicopter, searched the surrounding area, including the Cal-Sag Channel and nearby bike paths. A drone and police K9s were also used in the search.

On Wednesday, an Illinois Department of Natural Resources submersible was used to search the waters of the Cal-Sag Channel.

“We thought we found something, but it was a tree in a planter,” Parnitzke told Patch..

Blair’s family has also been walking the shore of the channel and bike paths in their own desperate search for their loved one.

“What has definitely stopped is people calling saying they saw him, but it turned out to be other people,” Parnitzke said. “We haven’t had any more sightings of him. We’re waiting for that call.”

Aside from Blair's vehicle being found in Palos Heights, it is unknown if he has any friends or connections to the community.

Blair is described as 5-feet, 5-inches tall, approximately 155 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and gray Nike shoes.
