Southwest Community Concert Band Tunes Up Thursday In Palos Park
Palos Park hosts the Southwest Community Concert Band Thursday, Aug. 17, for the final free concert of the summer concert series.

PALOS PARK, IL — The Village of Palos Park will be hosting its final concert of its Summer Concert Series this Thursday, Aug. 17. The Southwest Community Concert Band will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. on the village green, 8901 W. 123rd St., Palos Park. The concert is FREE.
This venerable 41-year-old concert band has become a community institution, performing at assisted living facilities, summer park concerts, community events, concert halls, churches and schools, as well as offering youth summer and winter band camps. The Southwest Community Concert Band is conducted by Ray Forlenza.
Many of the musicians that join the concert band include southwest suburban residents from all walks of life who return to music after high school and college. The concert band has a wide repertoire, including movie themes, patriotic songs, classical selections and holiday fanfares.
