Stock Up On Winter Produce At December Farmers Market

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Those wanting to capitalize on the opportunity to buy local, seasonal produce can do so at this month's winter farmers market in Palos Heights.

Doors to the market open at 8 a.m. this Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Orchard Room of the Palos Heights Recreation Department at 6601 W. 127th St.

Market-goers will have until noon to pick produce from more than a dozen vendors including Zeldenrust Farms, Rustic Knead Bakery, Camille's Confections, Aracely's Tamales, Sitka Salmon Shares, Windy Hill Farms, Lyons Farms, Etalaya's Biscotti, and others.

Children's face painting is available from 9 to 11 a.m., and a farmers market gift certificate raffle will be held at noon.

The season's four remaining farmers markets are slated for 2018 — Jan. 20, Feb. 17, March 10 and April 21.
