Smith & Wesson, Credit Cards, Cell Phones Stolen In Unlocked Car Burglaries

Two unlocked car burglaries reported July 21 and July 24 in Palos Hills.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Assorted items were stolen from unlocked vehicles parked on their respective driveways in Palos Hills, including a Smith & Wesson gun, reports said.

The first theft was reported July 21 in the 9000 block of Del Prado. The resident told Palos Hills officers that they parked their unlocked car on their driveway. Someone entered their vehicle and took a wallet containing several credit cards. The credit cards were subsequently used.

A few days later, a resident told officers that they parked their unlocked vehicle July 23 on their driveway in the 10500 block of 82nd Avenue. The next day, when they returned to their vehicle several items were missing, including four or five cell phones, AirPods, backpack, and a Smith & Wesson gun.
