Worth Man Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run Tied To Possible Road Rage
A 27-year-old Worth resident is facing reckless homicide, leaving an accident scene involving great injury or death, and traffic violations.

WORTH, IL — A Worth man has been charged in the fatal hit-and-run death of a 46-year-old man early Monday evening in Worth. Abdella Shaban, 27, is facing charges of reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury, as well as multiple traffic violations under the Illinois vehicle code.
Police believe the car vs. pedestrian crash may have evolved from a road rage incident involving Shaban and the victim's son.
Around 6:20 p.m. Monday, Worth police responded to a crash near the 6600 block of 115th Street. Officers learned that 46-year-old Douglas Richer was struck by a dark-colored BMW, which may have fled the area southbound on Natchez.
