Your Guide To 4th of July Celebrations in Palos Heights

Why hunt around for the times and places of all the local events on July 3rd and 4th? Patch gives you a rundown of all the Palos happenings.

Tuesday, July 3

Palos Heights 

The fest kicks off at 4 p.m. with plenty of activities for the family. Held at , the event will feature a petting zoo, moonwalk, climbing wall, mini golf obstacle course and a giant slide. Tickets will be sold at the gazebo from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $1 and wristbands can be purchased for $15.

A bean bag tournament will also start up at 5:30 p.m. It costs $5 per pair to sign up the day of the event, pending space. Brackets are posted at 4:30 p.m.

Pop's will host their annual hot dog eating contest at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park.  

Fireworks will began at nightfall from. Most people view the display from Memorial Park, but Patch hears that the Metra station offers a great view with easy parking access.

Wednesday, July 4

Palos Heights will host the annual Independence Day parade down Harlem Avenue. The route follows Harlem from 126th Street to Route 83. The parade starts at noon. 

Growing bigger and better every year, the parade will feature local community groups, marching bands, classic cars, bag pipes and Southpaw from the Chicago White Sox. 

and will be open during the parade and will offer several drink specials.
