2 Killed After Car Crashes Into Park Ridge Home: Police
Several roads were closed for several hours following the accident, which occurred at around 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to Park Ridge police

PARK RIDGE, IL — Two people were killed Tuesday morning after a car crashed into a home in Park Ridge. Police told Patch the deceased were occupants of the vehicle, which crashed into the unoccupied home at around 11:12 a.m. in the 900 block of Oakton Street. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Oakton Street, between Greenwood Avenue and Prospect Avenue, was shut down for several hours while police investigated. Park Ridge police were being assisted in the investigation by the MCAT Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team, according to a news release.
First responders from the Park Ridge police and fire departments responded to the scene at the intersection of Oakton Street and Cumberland Avenue. Witnesses told police a 2007 Honda sedan was traveling southbound on Cumberland Avenue, approaching Oakton, before it drove through the intersection and into the house. The home is located on the south side of the intersection, according to police.
