9/11 Memorial Service at Park Ridge City Hall

The city is still selling engraved bricks for the memorial.

The city of Park Ridge will mark the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacksat the annual memorial service on Sept. 9 at 8:15 a.m at Park Ridge City Hall, 505 Butler Place.

The ceremony is hosted by the Park Ridge police chaplains and will feature guest speakers, performances by the Roosevelt School Choir and police and fire department honor guards.

The City of Park Ridge unveiled its 9/11 Memorial last year with a dedication of engraved bricks and a 6-foot steel beam from the World Trade Center, on the grounds of City Hall at the southeast corner of Courtland Avenue and Butler Place.

The ceremony will also include a dedication of engraved bricks that were installed this year around the city's 9/11 memorial, which features a beam from the World Trade Center and is located on the grounds of City Hall at the southeast corner of Courtland Avenue and Butler Place.

There are currently 40 bricks engraved with the names of Park Ridge families, individuals or names of businesses. The city is still selling bricks, which will be installed at a later date. 6” x 8” bricks will cost $150 to engrave and 8” x 13” bricks will cost $250. No logos or other messages are permitted, per City Council policy.
