The Park Ridge Lions Club hosted its third "Micro Marathonβ on Saturday, June 17th.
While traditional marathons cover 26.2 miles, Lions Club member Matthew Coyne states βour Micro Marathon is a .262 mile event covering one square block in downtown Park Ridge. Our family friendly event started at 1:30 p.m. and ten minutes later, everyone was enjoying refreshments and snacks at the Harp and Fiddle.β
This year, 50 participants raised over $3,000 for Have Dreams, a local organization providing educational and other support services for individuals with autism.

Established in 1996, Have Dreams is internationally recognized for its training and programs that benefit children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.
Since 1947, the Park Ridge Lions Club has supported many important causes in Park Ridge.

In addition to Have Dreams and other disability services, the Lions provides annual support for vision and hearing screenings, eyeglass and hearing aid collections and free or low cost eye/ear exams for people in need.
