ID Of Homicide Victim Found Dead Near Shopping Center Released: Schaumburg PD
The 37-year-old woman died from multiple injuries sustained in an assault, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — A Des Plaines resident has been identified as the woman found dead Tuesday near a shopping center. Jenny R. Rodriguez, 37, died from injuries sustained in an assault in an apparent homicide, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The Schaumburg Police Department, which is working with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, tells Patch charges in the case could be announced as early as Wednesday night. A man had been taken into custody following the domestic-related incident.
Schaumburg police responded to the 100 block of south Roselle Road at around 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, for an unknown disturbance. They found the woman dead, and took the man into custody for an investigation. The two involved knew each other, according to police, and there never was a threat to the public.

According to an obituary for Rodriguez, she leaves behind a daughter, as well as other family members and friends. Visitation is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home until 9:15 a.m., followed by a procession to The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe for a 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment to follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
