Nursing Home Patient Sexually Assaulted By Employee, Police Say
Police arrested a 60-year-old Chicago man in connection with the sexual assault after a fellow nurse said she saw the incident last week.
PARK RIDGE, IL — A 60-year-old Chicago man has been arrested after police accused him of sexually assaulting a patient at a Park Ridge nursing and rehabilitation center last week.
Police said a nurse at Avantara Park Ridge, located at 1601 North Western Avenue, told authorities she entered the 62-year-old female patient's room on the morning of July 9 to see Norwood G. Banks assaulting the woman.
Banks is a nursing assistant at the facility, which offers memory care and post-surgical care for primarily older patients, according to Avantara's website.

Park Ridge police said Banks left the property shortly before they arrived but was later taken into custody at his home and charged with aggravated sexual misconduct with a person with a disability.
The patient was taken to a separate hospital for treatment. Banks is being held without bond at Cook County Jail, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department.
