Pedestrian, 65, Dies From Injuries After Being Struck By Car: Police
An investigation into the accident at the intersection of Cumberland and Peterson is ongoing.
PARK RIDGE, IL — A 65-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Saturday morning at the intersection of Cumberland and Peterson. Katherine Baransky, of Park Ridge, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital following the accident and later succumbed to her injuries, according to police.
The accident occurred at around 6:26 a.m. The Park Ridge Police Department's Major Crash Unit is conducting the investigation. Police said no charges or citations have been issued at this time. Anyone in the area that may have witnessed the accident is encouraged to contact police at 847-318-5252.
