An employee of the Shell station, 1605 S. River Road, who was not present when the robbery occurred, said a man entered the business sometime during the noon hour. The man’s face was covered, the gas station employee said, and he took a pop from the shelf before approaching the register.

The man demanded money from the register, the gas station employee said, and told the clerk to keep her hands on the counter where he could see them.
