Park Ridge Lions sets Vision/Hearing Screening Record!
99 Vision/Hearing Screenings in 4 hours!

On Friday, October 4th, the dark clouds and forecast of possible rain did not deter individuals who wanted to take advantage of the free Hearing/Vision Screenings offered by the Park Ridge Lions Club.
Hosted at the Park Ridge Library, the Lions conducted a total of 99 vision and hearing screenings. This number, according to Lions Past District Governor and Mobile Screening Technician, David Johnson, was the largest number of reviews conducted by his unit since before the Covid outbreak.
People began arriving before the official start time of 10:00 a.m.; by 1:30 p.m., Lions President Cathy Thompson and Library volunteer Gerry Zwicki had to stop accepting new arrivals in order to ensure that those individuals already in line could be screened on-time.

Said Thompson,"if we had only known that we were one short of 100 screenings, we certainly would have done one more!"
The Park Ridge Lions is able to schedule the Mobile Screening Unit free of charge, through contributions made by the local community during its annual Candy Days, Micro Marathon and other fund raising activities that take place throughout the year.
