8-Year-Old, Woman Found Dead In Peoria Area Home: Police

WEST PEORIA, IL — A 32-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy were found dead Thursday in a West Peoria home, according to police.

Peoria County sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a 911 call about an incident in the 100 block of North Cedar Avenue, police said. When they arrived, they discovered the woman and child, and detained a man at the scene, according to police, who said the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Information about the victims, including their causes and manners of death, were pending release by the Peoria County coroner, police said.
