  1. Firefighters in Peoria responded to a chimney fire on Sunday evening in the 100 block of East Embert Place. The fire was contained to the fireplace chimney and was determined to be unintentional. No injuries were reported, and additional companies were called in to ensure there was no hidden fire in the walls or attic. (CIProud.com)
  2. An indoor-outdoor family entertainment complex with a restaurant is planned for the three-acre northern portion of Lot 4 in the Bass Pro Shops subdivision in East Peoria. The development has been approved by the council, and the completion of the entertainment center is targeted for the spring of 2024. While there is still much to be finalized, the focus of the design is on providing family entertainment for all ages. (Pekin Daily Times)
  3. Two people were injured in a shootout in Peoria on Saturday. Police received ShotSpotter alerts, and when they arrived on the scene, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound. During the investigation, officers found the vehicle that had fled the scene and apprehended the driver, who had also been shot. (Peoria Journal Star)
