Man Indicted After Fatally Shooting 14-Year-Old From Behind: Reports
The man was robbing the boy of a gun, which turned out to be a toy, according to 25News Now.

PEORIA, IL — A man was indicted Tuesday in the shooting death of a 14-year-old last month in Peoria, according to reports.
Tramier Pate was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and attempted robbery after 14-year-old Omarius Gates was fatally shot from behind, authorities said.
Police responded shortly after 10 p.m. June 26 to Richwoods Boulevard and Molleck Drive for a report of a shooting and found Gates nearby, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. They arrested Pate the next day, police said.

Pate was robbing Gates of a gun before the shooting, according to 25News Now, which reported on Tuesday’s indictment, specifying that Gates only had a toy gun and that Pate said his firearm went off accidentally.
