Will Ferrell Spotted At Pekin, Peoria Restaurants

Central Illinois had a brush with celebrity this week when funnyman Will Ferrell stopped in at a pizzeria in Pekin and a pub in Peoria.

“Yes, it’s true,” Maquet’s Rail House in Pekin said in a Facebook post Tuesday evening that featured a photo of the actor and comedian, and noted he was “filming on our pizza side.”

Also Tuesday, The Basket Case Pub in Peoria shared a photo on Facebook of Ferrell at the business.

Ferrell, known for his starring roles in “Elf” and “Anchorman,” among other movies, is currently shooting a road trip-style documentary and was spotted Sunday night in the parking lot of a Walmart in Beech Grove, Indiana, according to FOX 59.

Barstool Hawkeyes also posted a photo Wednesday on Instagram of Ferrell at Deadwood Tavern in Iowa City.
