• Ag Center construction begins at La Salle-Peru High School (shawlocal.com) — Expect new traffic and parking disruptions near La Salle-Peru Township High School as construction begins on a new Agriculture Center at Sixth and Creve Coeur. Starting Monday, Dec. 22, certain lots will be reserved for workers, a section of Sixth Street will close during work hours, and these changes may last through mid-May 2026.
   

• La Salle County grand jury: Dec. 16, 2025 (shawlocal.com) — A La Salle County grand jury has issued multiple indictments, including one for a 38-year-old Peru resident accused of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. The list also names defendants from nearby communities such as La Salle, Ottawa, Streator, and Joliet on various drug, driving, and registry-related charges.
