13-Year-Old Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt After Crashing Into Car: Plainfield Police
The boy suffered life-threatening injuries after he was found lying in an intersection following the Thursday afternoon crash, police said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after he crashed into a car Thursday afternoon while driving a motorcycle, Plainfield police said.
Plainfield police and paramedics responded at 4:51 p.m. to Springview Drive and Crossing Drive to find the boy lying in the intersection next to a Honda Z50R mini motorcycle. He was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and later to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
The preliminary investigation determined a Honda Accord was headed north on Crossing Drive while the motorcycle was driving east on Springview Drive. Police said the teenager did not yield the right-of-way to the sedan and struck the left-side passenger door.

As of Friday morning, Plainfield police said they did not have any updates on the boy’s condition.
Members of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene to reconstruct the crash, which remains under investigation.
