Housing in Plainfield continues to expand, with about 1,000 housing units built in the last year and a potential for 800 more to come, according to Wood.

The Board approved the boundary changes following recommendations made in September by RSP & Associates, a third-party consultant, and the district administration. The district partnered with the consultant in August 2023 to analyze student attendance boundaries, provide enrollment projections and recommend potential adjustments.

Changes to elementary and middle school attendance boundaries will be made later. The phased strategy addresses "the most pressing concerns," according to the district, without requiring immediate facility expansion.
